The best top speed was 108 km/h (still using all Honda original parts). The scooter no longer went up to 117 km/h. My average fuel consumption is around 48 km/l.
My Honda PCX clocked 23,7xx km so I brought it for major service at Honda Impian-X Gelang Patah. Total spent was RM390.00 for - Engine oil (Honda 10w-30 JASO MB) RM23.00 Final gear oil (Honda) RM17.00 Brake oil (Honda DOT3) RM25.00 Spark plug (NGK MR8K-9) - RM25.00 Belt (K97, receipt has typo error) - RM69.90 Weight Rollers (Honda original set) - RM58.00 Slide piece set (Honda original) - RM15.00 Pulley drive face (Honda original K97) - RM28.00 Pulley Moveable Face (Honda original K97) - RM68.00 Pulley face boss (Honda original) - RM28.00 Labour - RM40.00 Discount - RM6.90 The service took about1 hour to complete. Brake oil's recommended change is every 2 years, and this is how it looks after 2 years and 2 months. Belt's recommended change is every 24,000 km, and by looking at these photos, one should not exceed the recommendation. Old (left) and new (on the right). I did not plan to change the drive pulleys. However, looking at it, it is best to change it since I am getting ne...
Honda ordered NGK to make a special plug for Honda PCX, and NGK made a model number called MR8K-9. The same plug is also used by Honda ADV-150. Not many shop have this plug in stock, and many would just recommend using Honda RS150's specced plug. A quick call to Boon Siew Honda Malaysia's hotline revealed that other plugs are not recommended for Honda PCX 2018. This replacement is due every 12,000 km. It costed me RM25 including installation.
The PCX clocked 17,920 km this morning and I decided to bring it for service. According to the manual, the engine oil and air filter needed replacements. I went to 3 branches under AG Motor in Johor Bahru, and none of them kept Honda Jaso MB engine oil. Every branch told me to pick Honda MA engine oil instead which is against the service manual. I decided to go to Honda Impian-X dealership in Gelang Patah. It was less busy than usual. Perhaps many still prefer to stay at home during this PKPB enforcement. My PCX was serviced, and I was charged a total of RM61, consisting of RM23 for the engine oil and RM38 for the air filter. The previous service was done at near to 12,000 km and today I observed that the discharged engine oil only had a slight tint of grey which means it was made to last more than 6,000 km on the scooter. I has no doubt that it is safe to follow the service manual, i.e change of engine oil at every 6,000 km. The air filter doesn't look that bad either. A...
